Sell the outcome — get the interview, get found, get an answer instead of silence. Ollie does the work; you approve the send.
§The eleven requirement groups
Every directive the owner has given, deduplicated and organised. Each group states its requirements as clear rules a future pass can check against.
◆ Open decision — resolve before the next pricing pass
Currency: CHF vs €. The audience and value are DACH-wide (not Switzerland-limited), so the currency for the broader EN/DE market is undecided. CHF is the placeholder for now. Do not silently switch; flag it for the owner. No other requirement is currently open — everything below is settled.
01Audience — everyday job seekers, not engineers
The audience choice is the strategy. Every design decision downstream serves this reader, and a landing that tried to serve everyone would blur the wedge.
- Everyday professionals — nurses, teachers, tradespeople, admin, care, sales, hospitality. Software engineers can use it too, but they are never the target and never the imagery.
- The status quo we replace: people who today DIY every application with ChatGPT, and/or pay ~CHF 40/mo for LinkedIn Premium. Name that stack concretely — the reader should recognise their own evenings in it.
- Not only the jobless — three audiences: actively searching · employed & open (passive) · growth-minded. The always-on "Career Radar" outcome exists specifically for the latter two.
- Not Switzerland-limited — DACH-wide. (This is why currency is an open decision, §above.)
- Do not address developers, "10x your applications", or any tech-worker framing.
◆ The emotional core
Ghosting and rejection fatigue: "100+ applications, only silence" · "nothing's wrong with you". The governing line is "You shouldn't have to be good at job-hunting to get the job." Lead with that felt experience, not with features.
02What we sell — the outcome, never the technique
Every section headline must promise a result. Mechanism is, at most, quiet supporting proof underneath — never the lead.
Sell this — the result
✓ Get the interview.
✓ Get hired.
✓ Get found.
✓ Get an answer instead of silence.
Never lead with this — the mechanism
✕ Scout / Match / Prepare / Track.
✕ "How it works" as a headline.
✕ Pillar / technique / engine language.
✕ Any process the reader has to learn.
⚠️ The four-pillar growth machine is INTERNAL only
Measure · Prove · Act · Distribute (Platform 3.0's closed loop) is the internal vision. It is never customer copy and never appears on the landing. The customer sees outcomes; the loop is how we deliver them behind the glass.
03Ollie — the agent is a person, not an "it"
The agent has a name and a character. Treat Ollie as a warm, competent teammate on the seeker's side — the single most humanising choice on the page.
- Name: Ollie (EN) / Olli (DE) — the character of the oll universe. Use the name; never "your agent" or "it".
- Voice: warm, competent, on the seeker's side. Ollie finds the jobs, writes the applications, keeps you visible, and tells you when to hit send.
- The honest line, always present: Ollie prepares; you review and send.
- Never imply Ollie auto-applies, mass-applies, or bot-submits. Ollie hands you a ready dossier; the click is yours.
✦ Why the name matters
"Your agent" is abstract and slightly menacing to a non-technical reader. Ollie is a colleague. It turns "an AI does your applications" (scary, faceless) into "someone on my side did the tedious part" (relief). The name carries the trust the honesty guardrails then keep.
04The two outcomes — framed as results, not "engines"
There are two ways Ollie gets you hired. Present each as an outcome the reader wants, not as a product feature or an "engine".
⚠️ Framing rules
Say "get seen" and "get found", not "Engine 1 / Engine 2". The deliverables are one application, so never list photo/CV/letter/prep as four things to buy. Presence growth is Postiz-powered, OAuth-only, drafts-for-approval — state the honesty inline, quietly.
05Design direction — Bold (chosen)
Three directions were explored; Bold won. Do not relitigate — build in Bold.
| Direction | Character | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Bold | Oversized display type, red colour-blocking, ink borders, sticker shadows, dramatic dark mode. | CHOSEN |
| Clean | Restrained, whitespace-led, quiet. | rejected |
| Warm | Soft, editorial, approachable. | rejected |
See the full exploration and rationale in the design study. Bold's oversized/red/ink-border language is what carries the "it runs itself" energy the maxed-out visuals need.
06Visual language — maxed out (the north star)
The visuals carry the story so prose can be minimal. Max out visuals, animation and media — all as generated HTML/CSS artifacts, no heavy libraries.
- Maxed-out generated HTML/CSS — animation and media, no heavy libs. The page should feel alive and premium.
- Borrow the technical-diagram craft, reimagined for a non-technical reader. Be inspired by how oll.am illustrates its platform (the C4 diagrams, the constellation, the boxes-and-arrows) — but reimagined to sell the outcome to a job seeker, not the tech.
- Where a visual shows something, don't also describe it in prose — skip redundant labels; let the artifact do the talking.
The hero — short, with a blown-out animated storyboard
Keep the hero copy compact. On the right, a blown-out, oversized, animated storyboard shows Ollie working — a 4-beat loop that reads as "it runs itself":
The loop is animated and oversized. It is the single most important artifact on the page: it answers "what does Ollie even do?" without a paragraph.
07Copy discipline — aggressively lean
Because the visuals carry the story, the words get to be few. Cut hard, say each idea once.
Do
✓ ~50% less text than a normal landing.
✓ DRY — say each idea exactly once.
✓ Short declaratives.
✓ Native German (written, not translated); market-neutral English.
Don't
✕ Repeat "works while you sleep / prepares / you approve".
✕ Filler or adjective pile-ups.
✕ Em-dashes (zero).
✕ AI-tell phrasing — de-AI the copy.
08Pricing — honest full price, no fake discount
Show the real prices. No strike-through, no "50% off", no limited-time countdown. "Founding / launch target / waitlist" wording is fine because it is true.
- No strike-through prices, no "was CHF X", no "50% off", no limited-time discount or countdown.
- Allowed: "founding price", "launch target", "waitlist" — all true, all fine.
- The Job Hunt is framed as a 2-month start, billed monthly, cancel once hired — matching a real search, not a trap subscription.
- The Photo CHF 29 is a founding-price reservation, not a live charge (foto checkout is parked).
◆ Resolved overlap — the old struck-price landing is superseded
The earlier landing case study shows a 50% founding discount with struck prices. That is retired. Build Spec 2.0 mandates honest full pricing above (CHF 29 / 49 / 19, no strike). Currency (CHF vs €) remains the one open decision (§TOC).
09Honesty guardrails — non-negotiable
The honesty is the positioning, not the fine print. In a category of over-promises, being the tool that tells the truth is the moat.
| The temptation | What oll.in does instead — the rule |
|---|---|
| Fake 5-star testimonials | No fabricated testimonials. Use illustrative persona scenarios (nurse / teacher / plumber), clearly labelled. Never a fake customer quote. |
| "Got hired / a raise / it pays for itself" as a claim | Success framing only as labelled illustrative scenarios or honest math — never presented as a real result we don't have. |
| "Auto-applies to hundreds of jobs" | Ollie prepares; the human sends. Never auto-apply, mass-apply, bot-LinkedIn, or scrape. "One click" = the user's own click on a ready dossier. |
| "Grows your LinkedIn automatically" (a bot) | Official OAuth, drafts-for-approval only. Presence posting is you approving each post. |
| Permanent-looking prices / countdown | Early / waitlist framing; prices are launch targets. CHF 29 = founding reservation (foto not a live checkout — parked). |
| "Swiss-hosted · data stays in Switzerland" | No Swiss-hosted, data-residency, or hosting-location claim. "Swiss format" (CV layout convention) is the only permitted use. |
| Fake press logos / stock faces as customers | Real founder note (honest) + real socials. No fake press logos; any stock imagery is illustration, never "a customer". |
10Behaviour & tech contract
One file, crawler-safe, bilingual, accessible. These are hard requirements a pass must satisfy.
- Single self-contained HTML file.
- EN/DE i18n toggle — native German, auto-detect German browsers, choice persists.
- Dark-mode toggle — OS-detected, toggleable, persisted.
- Reveal-on-scroll WITH a 1400ms safety fallback — link-preview crawlers must never see a blank page; a timer force-reveals everything if the observer misfires. Motion off under
prefers-reduced-motion. - Full SEO — OG + Twitter cards, JSON-LD, a 1200×630 share image, favicon.
- Crawler-safe, responsive, accessible.
◆ Note — the landing runs its own product brand
The oll.in landing itself uses its product-brand palette (Bold direction), distinct from these oll.am build-in-public docs (which are the newspaper aesthetic: Playfair + Source Serif, cream, the #567B95 accent). This spec doc is a build-log page and follows the house style; the landing it describes does not.
